The exhibition of Caro Niederer is the first representative solo show of the artist comprising works from the last three years. Niederer uses postcard motifs for her work, from "beautiful pictures" that she repaints in a refreshing "amateur painting style". She then had these reproductions printed as postcards and assembled the 30 motifs in the object "postcard stand". As a continuation of this idea of reproduction, the artist had twelve of the paintings produced as hand-knotted tapestries in China. In a kind of everyday ethnology, this exhibition demonstrates the contemporary taste and sparks heated discussions about the sense and nonsense of today's art production.
